Welcome To The Teenage Years! We are 13!

Happy Anniversary to us! We are officially 13 years old and just as happens in the life of our children, our studio blossomed this year! We have embodied and claimed the wonderful community we continue to grow, we continue to add classes we as a group desire to have within these walls, all with the back-drop of our beloved 26&2 that continues to keep us grounded.

As you step into the studio this month please note the special events we have planned, an altered schedule for our County Fair, and take advantage of the annual Anniversary Sales we have on class cards and retail.

doTerra Essential Oil Highlight

Welcome to August, one of the prime Pitta seasons of the year.  From an Ayurvedic perspective, Pitta represents the element of fire and water present within our physical and emotional bodies,  while the summer season represents heat, sun, intensity, sharpness, and transformation.  In Ayurveda it is believed that like increases like, and that opposites balance.  It is therefore easy to see how adding the heat and intensity of summer to a person who already has a large concentration of fire and water in their elemental constitution can tip the scale and cause an imbalance in one’s chemistry.  Add in your favorite hot yoga practice and now things are really intense!
The primary focus throughout the summer months is to keep Pitta balanced by staying physically and mentally cool, calming life intensity with a slower pace, and being mindful of balancing heated practices. Out of balance Pitta can manifest in many ways, including digestive upset, aggravated skin conditions, muscle fatigue and aches, inflammation, liver problems, heated and in tense emotions, and migraine headaches.  Adding doTerra Peppermint essential oil to your routine can assist in keeping Pitta’s fiery nature in check.

Peppermint is a powerful physical and emotional soothing agent.  It helps to cool the body and mind when applied topically or taken internally, in addition to easing heated digestion, nausea, hot flashes, fevers, and heated skin conditions such as rashes and hives.  It can also help to calm heated and intense emotions such as anger, critical thinking, and judgment.

doTerra’s Peppermint essential oil contains a high menthol content, which is a characteristic that distinguishes the best quality Peppermint oil from other products.  Because doTerra’s class of essential oils are considered Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG), they are safe for internal use as well as for applying topically to the skin or using aromatically to breathe and cleanse the air.  Placing 1-2 drops of Peppermint essential oil in your water bottle or tea before or after yoga practice is not only refreshing but has an immediate cooling effect on the body that helps to balance the intensity created by heated exercise and an elevated heart rate.  1-2 drops can be applied directly to the skin with or without a carrier oil (such as coconut oil) to soothe tired and fatigued muscles after intense activity, and rubbing Peppermint essential on the temples or the back of the neck can be a powerful stress reliever.  Adding 3-4 drops in an essential oil diffuser or simply in the palms of your hands while inhaling can calm aggravated emotions while promoting a productive and invigorating wave of energy, in addition to improving overall respiratory health.

Stay cool  and support your body throughout the month of August, allowing the transition into fall to be from a place of wellness and good health.  The actions you take now will determine your overall well being in the weeks ahead.  Experiment with the use of doTerra’s CPTG Peppermint essential oil in your daily routine this month and understand it’s potency in helping to restore overall balance.

I am often asked how I clean the studio and what materials and products we use to do so. We have a Karma Cleaning team to clean our studio twice a day and they work diligently to create a clean and supportive environment for us to practice in. We use natural products and do our very best to create as little waste as possible…
