As the youngest of four in an active family, I had no choice but learn to swim, ski, ride, and work hard. Nevada County became our home when my siblings were in middle school and high school and I was just a baby (yes, a big age gap in my family). We lived near a local lake and my mother made it mandatory that we all swim before we walked. Swim team and lifeguarding were also part of the gig. I wasn’t “athletic” but loved track in junior high and high school. My love of running became a “sanity saver” throughout college as did cycling and swimming. Running competitively transitioned into triathlon training and competing locally.
My passion for health and fitness grew after my three boys were born (in under four years) and were old enough to pack into a triple jogger stroller:) I began with a group fitness certification, Spinning certification, Personal Training, and finally Inferno Hot Pilates certification.
My passion and love of health and wellness has evolved over the years and I have found more balance and fulfillment as yoga and Pilates have become more than just a practice for me.
I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the warmth community. To be a part of the stellar staff and as I practice mat to mat with so many friendly, open, accepting, loving people is incredible. Beyond thankful!
Where is your favorite place to spend time in Nevada County
(other than Warmth of course)?
With those who put my heart at ease….preferably outside, in warm air, under twinkly white lights :)…. or in the water under the summer sun!
What makes you feel warm and fuzzy about our studio?
Other than the crazy flooring in the studio – as it is, in fact, warmy and fuzzy ;), the amazing welcoming greeting we all receive upon arrival. Regardless of what may be going “wrong”, the staff at Warmth value people, people’s feelings, & care deeply.
Why do you like it hot?
I like it HOT (at Warmth) because it’s how I like it in general. I tend to run cold most of the time. The heat soothes my soul to the bones. A sesh at Warmth makes me feel like I’ve had a massage, a workout, a therapy session.
What is your favorite fruit?
My favorite fruit right now is grapefruit. But come summer – it’ll be all the melon and berries I can get my fingers on.
What’s your most prized possession?
My most prized possession isn’t any possession at all…. It’s the gift of creation. I love the beach….(ok, & forest, valleys & mountains).
