kamala slavonic

programming manager. senior hot yoga instructor.

I took my first yoga class seventeen years ago, and from that moment I knew I wanted to teach.  I realized that dream and became a teacher after completing the Bikram training in 2005. I have continued my education over the years completing over seven different teacher trainings. Including Bikram, vinyasa flow, basic hatha based on Anusara and Iyengar principles, Kundalini and various workshops on philosophy and anatomy. But where I really learn the most is in the room being of service to my students, they are my greatest teachers!

Over the years yoga has become and integral part of my life. Not only does it keep my body strong and flexible, but it helps in every part of my life. Continuing my practice on the mat and as a teacher helps me to stay compassionate and be a better human being.

These days my practice comes in the form of hanging out with two toddlers – my daughter Juniper, who turned one in March and my granddaughter (YES granddaughter) Aurora who turned 2 in December. They teach me patience and keep me busy and full of love.
