kristin aguilar

inferno enthusiast

I am lucky enough to say that I was born and raised in Nevada County. My parents came to Nevada County in the late 1950’s, and I am the youngest of three children. After college, I traveled for a year, returned home to visit, and met my husband, Paul Aguilar. We have two children, Patrick (23) and Annie (20).

I have a teaching credential in English and Physical Education, and I am the Group Fitness Director at South Yuba Club. While holding various English teaching positions, I have also worked as personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I am a bit of a certification addict including: Personal Trainer, TRX Group Fitness, TRX Sports Medicine, Bodyflow, Bodypump, Bodycombat, Bodystep, CXWorx, Bodyattack, RIPPED, Spinning, and of course, Inferno (my favorite:). My next will be in the Yoga world. In the early days of the studio, I had a regular practice under Helen. I left for some time, but have recently returned with Paul, and we re so grateful every time we enter this studio.

five fabulous facts

Where is your favorite place to spend time in Nevada County
(other than Warmth of course)?

I love paddle boarding on Scott’s Flat Lake in the summer…cruising into the smaller coves and exploring.

What makes you feel warm and fuzzy about our studio?

The staff and the people who practice here are really kind and generous with space, with time, and warmth. It is a place of inclusion and non-judgment, and I love it!!!

Why do you like it hot?

It is a love/hate. I am cold all of the time, so the warmth feels like a hug. The mental challenge of the heat can be difficult for me, and that is why I love it. Most days, the mental stamina is more difficult than that the physical stamina.

What is your favorite fruit?

Ruby Red Grapefruit..I love the smell, the color, and the sweet/sour.

What’s your most prized possession?

My Specialized road bike. I feel free every time I get on it. Riding is meditative for me.
