Michaela took her first hot yoga class in 2004, while pursuing her degree in Theater at Sacramento State. She remembers being amazed at the room full of people holding their arms out parallel for the entire awkward series, while her triceps burned and arms wobbled – it’s astounding what you can do with practice! Walking out in a sweaty glow on shaky limbs, Michaela knew she’d be coming back.
Her practice had stops and starts over the next few years as she moved around Northern California. It became regular part of her life in 2009 while living in New York, and has sustained ever since. The consistency offered by the series as well as the presence of peace, strength and clarity were some of the aspects of the practice for which Michaela was the most grateful, as life took its twists, turns and moves. Over the years she has had the privilege of visiting many studios all over the U.S., and even as far as Bangkok.
Michaela is happy and grateful that this current chapter of life has brought her back to the mountains and her home town of Nevada City. Also Certified Massage Therapist, Michaela opened her practice, Watershed Massage and Integrative Therapies in November of 2015. She is honored and excited to become a part of the incredible staff at Warmth and continue to practice and grow with this vibrant community.
