My name is Sarina Orellana and fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing competitive basketball, starting in 2nd grade and continuing all the way through college. After a single season playing at Sierra College, health issues took over and I had to set aside my basketball career. While this was a devastating loss, I discovered a new passion. I first picked up running and began running 1/2 marathons. I then started adding weight training to my routine and within a few years, lots of work, and blood sweat and tears, my health started returning to me. Once I saw the drastic change in my health, I decided to make my journey towards health worth something and give back in any way that I could. I got certified as a personal trainer and began working both one on one with clients and leading group fitness classes. The demographic in which I was working called for some specialty certifications so in addition to being an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, I became certified in both Senior Fitness, and Sports Injury Prevention.
I first discovered Warmth (formerly Bikram GVNC) in 2014, and began practicing Bikram with my Sister at age 18. When Inferno Hot Pilates was brought to the studio, I fell in love with the practice instantly. Given my background in group fitness instruction, my sister began encouraging me to pursue a teaching certification. My family all pitched in and sent me to the IHP teacher training for me for Christmas 2016. I first got certified in January 2017, then when a teaching position opened up here in September 2017 I decided to go back to training to refresh and be able to teach the best class I could teach.
I am so honored to be a part of the Warmth teaching staff. I have been welcomed with such grace by all the students, this new journey is the most exciting thing I’ve pursued yet!
